Christmas is coming!!

With a new baby at home and going back to work very soon, I decided to limit our Christmas decorations this year. We did the tree and stockings and I actually got out a few of my Dickens pieces!

For the first time since she was 9 months old, Kenzie really enjoyed Santa this year! Caden didn't seem to mind him either!

This is only a fraction of my collection, but I didn't have the time or the energy to get it ALL out. Maybe next year...

Happy Thanksgiving!

With Brian still recovering from his surgery and a new baby at home, we didn't want to go far for Thanksgiving. Thankfully, Van and Kristin wanted to have us all over to their house for the occasion! I brought cranberry-apple casserole and a pumpkin cheesecake. Don't ask me to make the pumpkin cheesecake. It was a new recipe I was trying and it was AWFUL!!! Though, it's probably just because I'm not that skilled at baking. The casserole was delicious though!

Kristin's helper!

These ladies REALLY know how to do it up right! Everything was SO good!

Boofer was hoping to be the taste tester.

"You wanna do something cool?"

"Ok, you ready? This is going to make your momma crazy!"

Up, up and away!!

Ok, Uncle Van. Nothing crazy with the baby please!

Our little turkey!

Kenzie loves spending time with her Uncle Van and Aunt Kristin!!

Back to the present...sort of

When Caden was about 4 weeks old, Brian had to have a tonsilectomy/sinus surgery done. He's doing GREAT now, but for a while there it was pretty crazy. I had a newborn, a three year old, and a thirty year old to take care of. Thankfully Brian's parents came to help! I could NOT have done it without them. These pictures are from when they left to go back to Linden. Rick brought Granny Mae and Aunt D to visit too!

Time Traveling!

Katie had so much going on this past summer that it took a while to get these! But they are SO worth the wait! So while the temperature is plummeting and you're a little stressed about Christmas racing towards us, take a trip back to some warm July weather and enjoy!

Kenzie had dance camp every morning but we toured Memphis in the afternoons starting with......

....the sprinkler park! We even took a picnic for lunch!
I was very pregnant at the time but felt great!!

Another afternoon we went to the Botanic Gardens.
My kind of place with plenty of places to stop and relax!

"Tinkerbell's house" according to Kenzie.

We met Van at Jerry's for sno cones and then visited at their house for a little bit. Kristin was on a cruise with her mom and sister but had left Van her yummy Dorito casserole. Thanks!!

Kenzie moved into her big girl room just a day or two before Katie arrived so she was one of the first  to see it!

We went downtown and had dessert at the Cheesecake Corner before hitching a ride on the trolley!

And she couldn't come to TN without seeing Mom's new kitchen!!!

LOOK! A butterfly!

Another awesome visit with "my Katie" as Kenzie refers to her. Can't wait for her December trip when she'll get to meet Caden!!!
