The end of April is usually the last of my steady pace of life for the year and this year has been no exception! Kenzie had her last tumbling class on 4/23 and her teacher invited parents in to observe. This is definitely not Kenzie's favorite class because there is so much downtime between her turns at different activites. But she stayed with it until the end and that's all we ask. She will definitely be returning in the fall to begin her 3rd year of dance. THAT, she loves!! We're looking forward to her recital on June 2nd!

This past week, Oak Elementary celebrated 25 yrs! All week the teachers and students worked on decorating their hallways in different themes. Then on Friday the classes rotated around to the different activites outside each classroom and hallways and enjoyed an in-house field trip! Back in 1987, when the first group of students started school, the classrooms were finished, but several other parts of the school including the office and cafeteria, were still under construction. So we decorated the office in "caution" tape and barricades and original blueprints! I had several of the little kids ask if I was Bob the Builder's sister!

Oak Acres was created by the PTA years ago and had fallen into ruin. So in anticipation of celebrating 25 years, the 5th grade teachers and several PTA volunteers revitalized it! It's beautiful! A WONDERFUL outdoor classroom for the kids!

Saturday was the Community Celebration so Brian and Caden joined us at Oak for the day! We took them on a tour around the halls inside, then enjoyed activites outside and
hot dogs and birthday cupcakes (of course!).
