Barnyard Bash! (2 Years Old!!!)

Sorry it's taken me so long to get these posted. I'm off tomorrow so I'm attempting to play catch up! Since Kenzie does so well with all of her animal sounds and LOVES to go to the animal farm at the Zoo,we decided to throw her a BARNYARD BASH! Her cake was a barn and the cupcakes were sheep, pigs, and ducks, plus a sun! We practiced nearly every weekend in February to get the taste and the designs right. I think we did ok! I called Angie Panter and asked her to do animal cookies for the favors. (http://www.paintedcookie.blogspot.com/ better pics of the cookies on there!). The weather report showed rain so I was horrified at the thought of everyone being cooped up inside the garage or house, when there was a perfectly wonderful playground in our backyard! Thankfully, it rained for about 5 minutes about an hour before anyone showed up and was BEAUTIFUL for the entire party. The kids (and adults!) had a great time! Kenzie loved all the books, clothes, baby doll furniture, and toys!

Rylin was the life of the party ;)
Kenzie attempted to show Presley her new golf clubs, but she was more interested in Gigi.
Drew was the only boy at the party, but he had a great time! I think all the girls were a little overwhelming so he played inside most of the time.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for an awesome playground!!!!
Thanks Nana and Pop for all of your help with my birthday party!! Mommy couldn't have done it without you!!! (And thanks for taking lots of pictures, Pop!)

2 Year Portraits

This is the portrait we chose for her 2 year pictures. We went to a different photographer this time, just to switch things up a little. Plus this place had baby ducks!! The pictures turned out good but the experience was a nightmare. The photographer was bossy and impatient with Kenzie ("I'm done, momma"...heard that alot). They were extremely rude when we were 15 minutes late coming back to review the pictures (it took us 25 min. to even get our food at the food court!!!!). And the prices were outrageous! We also bought 1 8x10 of two other poses ($25 A PIECE) but you'll just have to come to our house to see those.

Chuck E. Cheese!!

For Kenzie's second birthday, we decided to introduce her to Chuck E. Cheese! She wasn't a fan of the oversized dancing mouse....but had a great time despite that! Nana and Pop managed to dig their vehicle out of the snow to join us and so did Van and Kristin! I really think Van had as much fun as Kenzie! Though he enjoyed the arcade games while she played the slots...watch out Vegas!
You're going to show me how to use this, right Uncle Van?
Since Van was going to spend his birthday with friends, we brought his presents too! Mom and Dad gave him a large picnic table, but he opened the lantern at Chuck E. Cheese. Van was nice enough to let us borrow the picnic table for Kenzie's big party the upcoming weekend. Brian and family were in Louisiana for a Bassmaster Open so he wasn't able to be here for her actual birthday. But, they made it back to Memphis just in time for her big party on Sunday!

Blizzard 2009!!

The weekend before Kenzie's birthday (Feb. 27-28th), Kenzie and I went to my parents' house for the weekend. Who knew a winter storm was going to blow in? Well...I guess they did predict it on the news, but when are they ever right?!
We spent most of the time indoors watching the snow fall. Kenzie kept us entertained.
She was very stern with the horsey (formerly Uncle Van's) and finally figured out how to make him talk.
We went outside just before it got dark on saturday and played, thinking it wouldn't really get much deeper. We were SO wrong. Kenzie enjoyed the layer of white on everything and loved catching snowflakes on her tongue! I think she thought I was crazy for laying down in the snow!
By the time we woke up Sunday morning, we had almost 24 inches on the ground! Mom and Dad's driveway is on an hill so we literally had to DIG my car out so we could get back to Memphis!
Kenzie was NOT a fan of the deep snow. It was powdery so the sled kept sinking and she didn't have anything to hold on to. She stayed on the porch with Pop most of the time and just watched us like we were insane.
We had SOO much fun!! Even Ace had a good time.
I was glad he didn't come kiss me while I was buried in the snow!!

Cupcake crazy!!

Kenzie and I practiced making cupcakes every weekend in February for her upcoming birthday!
First she practiced with her own dishes...
Then she practiced with Momma!

"Tastes pretty good, Momma, but we should probably practice more ;)"
