Mom's Birthday!

We all went to Ripley to celebrate Mom's birthday at the end of March (yes, I know I'm very behind).
Of course, she put the guys to work in the yard. If you haven't seen the new kitchen or back porch, YOU SHOULD. It's really beautiful and I'm so happy for Mom and Dad. They totally deserve it!
Ace and Boofer weren't happy with us for leaving them outside. But then a squirrel or something would distract them and off they went!
Kristin makes the yummiest cakes in the WORLD!!! I love the little purple flowers she put on this one for Mom's birthday cake!
We had to shield the cake while we lit the candles! So mom got some help blowing out the candles this year from mother nature!
This isn't from Mom's birthday, but it's one of the many dresses Kenzie gets from her Nana! LOVE IT!!

Circus Time!

Kenzie got a new Gigi movie for her birthday. In the movie, Gigi goes to the circus! So of course, from the moment she saw that, Kenzie's been wanting to go! As luck would have it, just a couple of weeks after her birthday, Beth called and said she had 3 free tickets!!! So needless to say, we went!! SHE LOVED IT!!!
DADDY!!! Did you SEE that?? That's AWESOME!! (Yes, she says the word "awesome" at the most appropriate times!)

Gone Fishin'

Brian actually took us fishing one day! We had such a good time! Kenzie loved fishing with her daddy and I loved taking pictures and just relaxing with my family!!
My two favorite pictures. I couldn't make just ONE big!

Lazy days of Spring Break!

We stayed in Memphis most of the week and just played. Here's a few cute shots...
She got her first helmet! It has the catepillar on it! So cute.
This is what she bought with her birthday Toys 'R Us gift card! A vacuum with a WORKING dust buster! No child labor laws were violated in the taking of these pictures.
And I finally got my haircut! Kenzie likes my "little" hair.

Spring Break at the Botanic Gardens

My friend Heather invited Kenzie and I to go to the Memphis Botanic Gardens to see their "My Big Backyard" area. I think it's fairly new, but it was the first time I'd been since Brian and I visited right after we moved to Memphis in 2005, so everything looked new to me!
I have to admit, several of the iron (tin?) characters eyes creeped me out a little. The eyes were just black holes...yikes. But isn't that a cute setup of the flower "beds"? Complete with shoes at the end! They had flowers in them too! They had lots of whimsical iron characters and flowers and scenes and I can't wait to take Mom next time we go. I know she'll get so many more ideas for her own backyard...but I don't know where she'll put them!
This is Kaitlyn (sp?). She goes to Ms. Cindy's with Kenzie so we were so excited to run into her and her mommy! The little one is Mackenzie, Heather's little girl. She's also going to be a big sister in a few short months!
This place had the CUTEST assortment of little houses for the kids to play in! You gotta go!
My neat freak daughter...sweeping out "Tink's house" as she called it.
The giant brown things are suppose to be earthworms on the side of the hill and the tunnels are suppose to be worm holes. Cute.
The girls could have spent hours at the sand pits alone! But we enticed them away with hula hoops and water!
They had SUCH a good time and we can't wait to go back!!

KENZIE'S GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!!!

Yep, it's official! I'm pregnant! (see the proof?) We couldn't be more excited! I went the doctor on March 15th (first day of spring break!) and got to see our little "dot" and hear the heartbeat! So I'm about 6 weeks in these pictures.
I'm posting this post about 3 weeks later (I'm about 9.5 weeks now) and Kenzie just has an inkling of what's going on. She's told us since right before her SECOND birthday that she wanted a baby brother or sister and all her babies have been that for her ever since. So we've now told her she's going to get a baby brother or sister in a few months. She's declared that if it's a girl, we'll name her Tinkerbell and if it's a boy, we'll call him Spongebob. So it's Tink or Bob for now. To be 100% honest, we're hoping for a boy, but would be thrilled with a girl too! I always wanted a sister and didn't get one til Van married Kristin!
For the record (and my one and only weight "post") I am starting out this pregnancy at 128lbs. Thank you Weight Watchers Online! So now I know what to shoot for once the baby is born! Until then I'm going to enjoy eating not-so-strictly, but still making good choices!!!!
You probably won't see a heck of alot of posts pertaining to the pregnancy until we get more news. Honestly, I have a hard time understanding how I'm going to love and lavish attention on this baby as much as I do Kenzie. I know I will, but it's just going to have to reveal itself as time goes on. So for now, it's still a KENZIE FRENZY!!!
OH!! Due date is November 7th!!

Big Day coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had Kenzie's birthday party yesterday and it was AMAZING!!! The weather was beautiful! I'm telling you, her birthday parties are just good luck. If you want good weather, just count on it if it's the weekend of her party. The past two years there was a big snow storm either the weekend before or the weekend after, but her party weekend is always beautiful and around 50+ degrees, this year is no exception! So hopefully that means we won't have a snow storm next weekend. The weather reports are calling for sun and 60 degrees! (Now watch, next year will be terrible weather...) I'll put pictures up as soon as possible, but I'm just so excited about her THIRD birthday tomorrow I had to put a new post up!!
